Introduction

Kharma is worldwide known for it’s technological improvements to every detail of the loudspeakers. The drivers are a very essential element in the creation of a Dutch Masterpiece. Therefore Kharma spends detailed research and development time on improving their drivers time after time. All with the aim of creating the perfect audible Masterpiece.

Elegance drivers

There are two types of drivers used in the Elegance Collection. The Kharma Composite driver for the standard Elegance loudspeakers and the Kharma Omega-7 driver for the Elegance Signatures. All resulting in a very special Dutch Masterpiece.

Kharma Composite Driver

The heart of the Elegance Standard loudspeaker is formed by the Kharma Composite driver which is equipped with a cone technology developed by Kharma and has a patented linear magnet motor drive system. It consists of ultra high-tech rocket science/formula 1 based fibres created into a setting with optimised behaviour for the purpose. Finite element analysis with advanced computer systems have leaded to optimised cone- shapes with a near perfect behavior for the drivers.

Kharma Omega-7 Driver

The midrange of the Elegance Signature loudspeaker is formed by our in-house developed Kharma Omega 7 driver, where the number is referring to the 7-inch size of this carbon based driver. The cone technology used for the Omega 7 driver is based on Ultra High Modulus carbon fibres, which is the best fibre available on the globe today. The use of these ultra stiff carbon fibres and an unique resin displaces the break-up frequencies of the cone, in comparison with a standard cone material, to a whole other level. These increased break-up frequencies ensures the cone is free from almost all resonances in the intended frequency range for this midrange driver. Moreover, the cone shape is optimized with a finite element analysis to utilize the full potential of the carbon material. This combination of the best carbon fibre and an optimized cone shape has resulted in a near perfect behaviour for the Kharma Omega 7 driver.

Pure Beryllium tweeter

The effect of this innovation combined with the development of a pure Beryllium tweeter is very clearly audible in even a short listening session. Ultra high resolution in the midrange depicting many layers and sound colours like in excellent wines, where the complexity of the whole history of making the wine, can be tasted in a moment. It is like the music is coming from an inner space with an infinite number of layering.

Exquisite drivers

Kharma Omega 7 driver

The midrange of the Exquisite loudspeakers is formed by our in-house developed Kharma Omega 7 driver, where the number is referring to the 7-inch size of this carbon based driver. The cone technology used for the Omega 7 driver is based on Ultra High Modulus carbon fibres, which is the best fibre available on the globe today. Nomex-Kevlar driver

The two woofers have 8 inch sandwich-honeycomb-Kevlar cones which also again are completely free from structure born resonances in the used frequency range.

Diamond concave tweeter

Without a doubt the quality is guaranteed by using a Diamond tweeter as a standard in the Exquisite Collection. These high-frequency drivers are true technological wonders. The tweeters have a diamond cone which have been realised by the so called CVD process. With this process incredible stiffness is reached with a minimum of thickness of only 50 μm. Notice a human hair is in the range of 17 to 180 μm. The cone is the most essential part of the tweeter and because this cone is made of Diamond the tweeter is capable to create impressively pure high frequencies.

Enigma Veyron drivers

With fully in-house engineered Kharma Omega-F drivers the fundaments for the Enigma Veyron Collection are born. The bass and midrange section of the Enigma Veyron loudspeakers are formed by these exclusive Omega-F drivers. Together with the 25mm and 50mm Diamond tweeter for the high frequencies the Enigma Veyron Collection proved it is equipped with an extraordinary set of characteristics.

Kharma Omega-F Driver

The Kharma Omega- F drivers are a totally new and unique approach to eliminate distortion, normally caused and present in the widely used iron-based magnet motor systems. Kharma has achieved this by totally eliminating the iron out of the magnet motor system. With a patented smart clustering of neodymium magnets, a static magnet field has been realized that does not need any focussing by iron. Normally the use of iron induces Eddy currents in the voice coil and according to the principle that was discovered in 1855 by Leon Foucault, these Eddy currents by nature surest a magnet field that opposes the movement of the voice coil. By completely eliminating these Eddy currents, the drivers act faster, with less distortion and with vastly increased resolution and detail. These sonic benefits are throughout the whole bandwidth of the driver. As a result: better transients, less coloration and more refined complex sound structures.

To further perfect the Omega-F drivers, the cones are optimized with the utmost strong Carbon fibre technology at present and of course even the voice coil former was made of carbon. Moreover, the driver connectors are of Kharma quality, using the same silver alloy as used for the Kharma crossover cables and external cables.
